Commercial lounges for hotels, motels, and caravan parks
When it comes to buying commercial lounges for hotels, motels, resorts and caravan parks, it is important to consider the quality of the materials used in their construction. While some suppliers may try to cut costs by using cheaper materials such as chipboard, merch pine and domestic bed actions, it is important to understand that these materials are not as durable or long-lasting as OSB board, MGP10 pine, and commercial grade bed actions. Details become incredibly important when choosing commercial furniture. Even Fabrics and foams, all have unique characteristics and construction methods which can dramatically change how the product looks and feels but equally how it performs and how long it lasts.
OSB board, also known as oriented strand board, is a high-density, engineered wood product that is made from compressed wood chips. It is extremely strong and durable, making it the perfect material for commercial lounges. Unlike MDF and chipboard, OSB board is not prone to warping or swelling in humid or moist environments, which means it will maintain its shape and strength for many years to come.
MGP10 Structural Pine, also known as Machine Graded Pine, is a type of high-quality timber that’s specifically designed to meet the demands of various construction applications. The unique feature of this pine is that it undergoes a meticulous machine grading process, which ensures consistent strength, stiffness and durability in every piece. This innovative procedure guarantees an enhanced level of safety and stability. Some of the most common uses of MGP10 Structural Pine in the residential building sector include wall framing, floor joists, roof battens and beams. We choose to use MGP10 in our sofas because we know it has been graded and tested to ensure its strength, we know it does not contain weak points or knots that could cause the frame to fail. Furthermore, its FSC certified and sustainable nature contribute to a more environmentally conscious approach.
The bed actions of commercial lounges are also very important to consider. Our Commercial-grade bed actions are made from high-quality materials and heat treated spring steel and are designed to withstand the constant use of commercial environments. Standard or Domestic bed actions on the other hand, are generally not as durable, they are lighter weight and may not be able to handle the wear and tear of commercial use. When choosing a bed action its import to consider its frequency of use, our actions have been duty tested to 2000 open and close cycles (around 5.5 years of everyday use) so we know it will stand up to regular use. Even the steel frames are tested to ISO9227:2017 for resistance to corrosion so a beach side location is no issue.
Fabric selection is one of the most noticeable components on a sofa or upholstered item. Often when people select fabrics they are primarily drawn to it look and feel however choosing the right fabric for your application should be your first step, as a great looking fabric in the wrong environment won’t stay looking good for long. Some fabrics and Vinyl are resistant to and tested for exposure to Pool chlorine, others have better resistance to sun and weather and might suit outdoor or patio areas. we even have some bleach cleanable fabrics, so the first consideration should always be what fabric will best suit your environment location and use. Once you know what the physical requirements are we can move on to selecting the right fabric in a look and feel that will look better for not only today but for the future as well. We have thousands of options from leading Australian fabric houses, we are sure to have something to fit your needs.
foams are an important consideration for commercial sofas. Super plush sink in comfort might well feel great today but with regular use how will it feel and look in the future? Well, we can answer that question and “it’s not great”. All foams soften with use, expecting foam not to soften would be like asking for a car tire that grips well on the road but never wears out……it just doesn’t work that way. For commercial application we recommend a medium firm foam which generally is a great compromise between comfort and longevity. We can offer soft and plush foams but with a softer starting point wear and tear can take effect becoming saggy and unsupportive fairly quickly in high use applications, for this reason we recommend a medium firm foam for most high use applications. There is a large range of foam options and just like every aspect of our sofas we can customize to your needs.
